School Office Team

The first point of contact in the school, our office team provides a warm and friendly reception to school visitors.
Wendy, Jim and Pat are there to help with any enquiries, to provide information and arrange appointments for parents to meet teaching staff.

Valerie Lyons
Headteacher
Valerie Lyons has been at West Jesmond Primary School for 14 years. Her aim as Headteacher is to provide a stimulating and enriched learning environment for every child and to ensure they reach their full potential.

Joanne Elliott
Deputy Head
Supporting the head teacher and staff team, Joanne Elliott is accessible to pupils and parents to answer their questions and discuss any issues or problems they or their child may be experiencing. Her role is an interfacing one between the school and parents.

Dianne Sanderson
Assistant Head and School Leading Parent Partnership Awards
Supported by Jill Whitehouse and Margaret Charlton, she is also Personal Health Social Citizenship Education Coordinator.
Building relations and improving communications with new and existing parents is an integral part of Dianne Sanderson’s role.
As the bridge between parents and the school, Dianne’s role is giving parents information about the curriculum, courses and via ongoing feedback, find out what our parents' needs are, their suggestions and any improvements they feel the school could make.

Judith Reed
Special Educational Needs Coordinator
Special Educational Needs Teacher of the Year 2008, Judith liaises with parents, staff and outside agencies to make sure all children have all the support they require to enjoy an inclusive learning experience with us.
