The first point of contact in the school, our office team provides a warm and friendly reception to school visitors.

Wendy, Nikki and Pat are there to help with any enquiries, to provide information and arrange appointments for parents to meet teaching staff.

Our PPA team provides seamless education and learning for children during times when other teaching staff are engaged in lesson planning, preparation and assessment.

Derek Stuart

ICT Support Officer

We have invested heavily in ICT, audio and visual equipment which every child can use. Derek Stuart supports children and staff to access all equipment. Interactive learning is a central part of the learning experience for children at West Jesmond Primary. Key Stage 2 children have access to a secure Virtual Teaching Learning Environment which Derek administrates. For West Jesmond Primary pupils only, the VTLE allows children to continue their learning experience outside school hours and interact with other pupils.

Deborah Hainsworth

Community Arts Coordinator

Deborah's Community Arts Coordinator role is to build links with the local community and develop wider opportunities for children to experience the Arts. This includes projects such as djembe drumming, dance and working with retired people from our locality. Deborah also works with Years 5 and 6 to put together our weekly radio programme. This is broadcast across the school playground each Friday morning at the start of the school day. You can listen to our programmes on www.westjesmondradio.co.uk

Marian Murray

SEN Assistant

Working as part of the Special Needs Team, Marian Murray provides therapeutic exercise through games and play to help children maximise their learning experience.
