Choosing a school

One of the most important decisions any parent has to make in their child’s education is choosing a school.

In this site you will find our Ofsted report, achievement reports, testimonials from children and parents plus general information to help parents find out more about our school and the learning experience we deliver.

We hope you will visit our school in Jesmond and speak to the Headteacher, our staff, other parents and the children themselves to experience our outstanding school for yourself. Please contact our school office to arrange a meeting.

We look forward to welcoming you to our school.

General information

Teaching and learning is central to our school. Our aim is to enthuse your children about education and provide them with a balanced springboard to begin their learning journey. We actively welcome and encourage the involvement of parents in the school.

We operate an Open Door Policy. You are always welcome to visit the school. As safety and security is of the utmost importance to us, you will appreciate that we ask you to contact the school office on arrival. If you would like to discuss any school matter with a class teacher or the Headteacher please make an appointment via the school office.

If you have concerns over any aspect of your child’s education or personal welfare do not hesitate to contact their class teacher or the Headteacher. In the majority of cases issues are swiftly resolved following an informal meeting. Formal complaint procedures are in operation via the school office if necessary.

Parent teacher liaison

Meetings between school staff and parents are held frequently to give you the opportunity to discuss your child’s progress. Open evenings are held each term. Parents can view their child’s work and talk to teaching staff. Please see our School Calendar section for details of our next parent’s evening.

If you wish to talk to a member of our teaching staff at any other time appointments can be made for parents to see teachers before and after school. Please contact the school office to arrange a meeting.

Correspondence

Good communication between school and our parents is essential to keep parents fully informed. In this section you will find downloadable correspondence which gives information about school dates and activities, future events, school trips, clubs and sporting activities.

Supporting your child

We recognise the important role parents play in their children’s education. We believe children thrive in their education and achieve more when their school and parents work together.

Our dedicated Parent Partnership Coordinator is always available to help parents make the most of their child’s learning experience with us. Part of that support includes events and opportunities where parents can learn more about supporting their child. Information about forthcoming Supporting Your Child events can be found in the School Calendar section.
