On Wednesday Y3C went to the school allotment where we helped plant tomatoes and sunflowers, as well as picking some ripe vegetables like spinach. At the end of the session we learnt how to tie a reef knot and even got to go home with tomato plants and fresh spinach and herbs!

'Year 4's big question this week is 'do biscuits crumble quicker in hot drinks?' We made some predictions using drawings and then designed a simple experiment where we dunked biscuits in water of different temperatures to see how long they stayed in tact.

This week our Eco-School committee met with Mr Ward to find out about the new Solar Panels being installed. Mr Ward explained how they will work and the importance of renewable energy. We also shared our fantastic ideas about how we could become even more sustainable in school.

Y! have been very busy investigating and retesting the dunkability of our biscuits. We were blown away by the results. They could hardly believe that rich tea biscuits were the best biscuits for dunking.

In STEM Week, Y3 were investigation the big question : Which was the best drink for dunking? We tested 6 different drinks, from water to orange juice and kept the test fair by only using rich tea fingers. We recorded our results using tally charts and bar graphs.

Y4's STEM week visitors from @UniofNewcastle showed us how berries can be used to make an electric current. We learnt how to connect electrodes to some delicious forest fruits and record the current produced by connecting to the internet. We were all amazed!

In STEM Week, Y1 have been asked 'Which biscuit lasts longest?'. We have chosen some of our favourite biscuits and are testing which one lasts longest in warm water before they break! We will let everyone know which biscuit lasts longest soon!
